The History of The Forsythe Cup

Forsythe CupThe Forsythe Cup began in 1999 as a nine hole event for some friends to get together and compete for the Cup. It has since grown to a full shotgun tournament at one of Canada's premier golf courses. Over the past six years The Forsythe Cup has raised approximately $40,000 for the Aphasia Institute in Toronto.

Aphasia

Aphasia is an acquired disorder caused by an injury to the brain and affects a person's ability to communicate. It is most often the result of a stroke or head injury.

The Aphasia Institute

The Aphasia Institute has been helping people and their families for over 25 years. They aim to give hope and make a difference to the quality of life and well being of individuals with aphasia and their families, wherever they may be. They aspire to change society so that communicative access is universally accepted for all those affected by aphasia.

The Swing into Recovery Golf Clinic

For the 5th year in a row we are hosting the Swing into Recovery Golf Clinic for stroke
survivors who really want to get back to the sport they love. The clinic is free for
stroke survivors, and after the clinic they will be able to have dinner and enjoy the evening
festivities with the tournament golfers. 12 participants will be able to participate in this year's clinic
and we are hoping for another huge success.
We appreciate your support and thank you sponsoring such a worthy cause.

Supporting Our Troops

This past year we have decided to show our support of the Canadian Forces by offering everyone a
yellow ribbon lapel pin to wear with pride. Many people wore red to show their support of the troops and I ask that everyone wear red again this year.
